This time capsule piece should be sitting in a museum. This torch from an Olympics best remembered for Carl Lewis' four Gold Medals to match Jesse Owens, and Mary Lou Retton's flawless vault in women's gymnastics. While other torches got in on the fun, however, this one was left at home. The result is a Dead Mint specimen in its original leather case and operation instructions View pictures to see condition. Highly collectible in any condition, this unimprovable representation should really strike a chord with serious Olympic collectors. The torch is constructed of spun aluminum, with an antique brass finish. The torch is inscribed with the Olympic motto, "Citius, Altius, Fortius." The torch run for the 1984 summer olympics lasted 82 days and traveled through 33 states, plus the District of Columbia. This official torch is number 0799.
